SPRING 2014: Matt appeared in 24 games (starting 4) for the University of Washington in his redshirt sophomore year. He batted .222 with 13 runs scored, 2 RBI, and went 2 for 2 in stolen bases. His on base percentage was .385 for the year.
SPRING 2013: Matt missed the entire 2013 season due to injury and thus redshirted the year.
SPRING 2012: Matt appeared in 24 games, starting two, as a true freshman and was a frequent pinch runner and second baseman. He finished with a .071 batting average scoring 5 runs. He handled 14 error-free chances in the field for a 1.000 fielding percentage.
HIGH SCHOOL (2011): Matt played for Valley Christian HS in San Jose, CA. He won three varsity letters and was the team’s captain in his senior year. He helped lead Valley Christian Warriors to a 9-5 league record. He earned honorable mention all-league as a sophomore, junior and senior. He batted .320 as a senior, .405 as a junior and .300 as a sophomore.
PERSONAL: Born in Santa Monica, CA to Debbie and David Jackson. Matt has a younger brother, Joshua, and an older sister, Nicole. He graduated with a 3.85 grade point average. For Matt baseball really got serious for him when he played in the New York Cooperstown Tournament. Matt enjoys hunting and fishing. He intends to major in communications.
