Bauer, a left-handed hitting outfielder that can make great plays at the plate and in the field, brings many solid skills to the Newport Gulls outfield in 2014. Bauer, who will play his sophomore season with the Southern New Hampshire Penmen, had an exceptional freshman campaign with the Dean College Bulldogs. There, Bauer hit .366, driving in 23 runs while stealing 13 bases in 36 games.
A resident of Millis, Massachusetts, Bauer played high school baseball at Millis High School. There, he participated in the Bay State Games, and also helped his team advance far into the postseason within the Massachusetts interscholastic baseball tournament.
