Darren enters his second season of summer collegiate ball with the Pump Jacks. In 2012, he played for the Quakertown Blazers in the Atlantic Collegiate League. He started and came out of the bullpen for the Blazers, striking out 24 in 35.2 innings pitched.

Darren started seven games and made a pair of relief appearances this spring at Keystone College. He went 5-1 with a 4.06 ERA, tossing a shutout and two complete games. He struck out 30 in 44.1 innings of work. 

Darren opened his collegiate career in 2012 at Elon University before transferring last year to Guilford Technical Community College. At Guilford, he appeared in ten games and struck out 26 in 47 innings.

Darren prepped at Council Rock North High School in Newton, Pa., where he helped lead his team to both league and district titles in 2010.  In 2011, he was named second team all-Southeast Pennsylvania. Darren was a member of the Council Rock-Newton team that represented the Mid-Atlantic region in the 2005 Little League World Series.
