Kevin Griffin enters his 11th season of professional baseball and his first season as Hitting Coach for the Sioux Falls Canaries.  The Roanoke, Virginia native spent seven years in independent baseball as a catcher, beginning his career in the Frontier League in 2004 with the Evansville Otters and with the Ohio Valley Redcoats in 2005. Griffin joined the Amarillo Dillas in the United League in 2006 where he was named a league All-Star.

The switch hitter had his best offensive year in 2008 with the Rio Grande Valley White Wings, hitting .320 for the season, and was selected to his third-straight United League All-Star game.

Griffin made his coaching debut as the field manager for the Ruidoso Osos in the inaugural season of the Pecos League.  Ruidoso led the league in hitting before financial problems forced the team to fold.  He spent two seasons with the Amarillo Sox, serving as bench coach, before being named hitting coach for the Grand Prairie AirHogs in 2013.
