The 2013 season saw Lorenzo Papa starting 30 of 35 games at Broward College, where the junior batted .263 in 175 at bats with 13 runs, 30 hits, four doubles, two triples, two home runs, 19 rbi’s, and 44 total bases to post a .386 slugging percentage and a .303 on-base percentage.  Papa, who also stole two bases in two attempts, had a .992 fielding percentage, handling 228 putouts, making 11 assists and committing only two errors in 241 defensive chances.  Little wonder he topped all Seahawk fielders in putouts.At Arlington Catholic High School here in Massachusetts, where he played four years of baseball, three years of basketball, and one year of football, he was twice selected first team all-state by The Boston Herald.  Papa was also named by The Boston Globe to the All-Catholic Conference League team three consecutive years, and during his junior year, when he set the school career record for most hits, Papa was named CCL most valuable player.
