The junior at Rider saw 13 games this season making 12 starts. Posting a 4.57 ERA in 67 innings, Sowa struck out 58 batters and held opponents to a .251 average. Sowa, a Secondary Education/Mathematics major, went 7-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games and 11-1 total in his 2013 season. Hitters batted .180 against him, with MAAC hitters batting just .168 against him, Sowa became just the fourth Bronc pitcher and the first since 1985 (All-American Jack Armstrong) to win 10 games in a season and is the first Rider pitcher to win 11. He was named First Team All-New Jersey D-I by the NJCBA and finished the 2013 ranked 16th nationally in wins.
