Ferrano led a successful high school career at Wellington H.S., lettering two years for his team and helping his team win a District Championship in 2008.  In his senior year, he pitched 71 innings and recorded 61 strikeouts, maintaining a low ERA of 1.58.  He led all of Palm Beach County in saves as a senior as well. In his freshman year with the Ospreys, Ferrano made seven appearances and starting one game, throwing nine total innings and fanning five batters.
