Travis (Kyle) Hobbs, a native of Dade City Florida, attended and played collegiate baseball at St. Leo University where last year he played in 55 games batting .339 with 12 doubles and 5 triples to go along with 15 home runs while driving in 41 runs in 224 plate appearances. In his junior season with the Lions, Hobbs batted a team and career-high .377 to go along with 60 hits, 38 runs scored, 23 RBI, 10 doubles, one triple, six home runs and 12 walks in 159 at bats, including 20 multi-hit and five multi-RBI games. Hobbs was slated to join the Dillas last year but those plans were changed when he sustained a broken hand during the last two weeks of the season. St. Leo University is the alma mater of Dillas field manager Brady Bogart.
