Clevlen enters his first season as Wingnuts manager following one of the most decorated careers in franchise history. The Austin, Texas native spent six of the last seven seasons with the Wingnuts, becoming the franchise’s career leader in virtually every offensive category. In 398 games, Clevlen amassed 513 hits, including 132 doubles and 71 home runs, driving in 312 runs while scoring 315 of his own. Each mark tops the Wingnuts all-time leaderboard, while the doubles total places him in the top five in American Association history.


A second round pick of the Detroit Tigers in 2002 out of Westwood High School in Austin, Texas, Clevlen spent eight seasons in the Detroit organization, making his major league debut in 2006. He hit his first two MLB home runs in his third career game at Tampa Bay on August 1, 2006. The 34-year old played parts of three seasons in the majors with Detroit, then reached the big leagues again with Atlanta in 2010, his last appearance at baseball’s highest level. In total, Clevlen's career spanned 16 professional seasons and featured more than 1,700 hits.
