Alex begins his second season with the Bluefish, third in the Atlantic League and 18th of professional baseball. Last year with Independent Long Island, he clubbed seven home runs and recorded 31 RBI with 41 runs scored in 70 contests. The former Major Leaguer also posted a .269 batting average over a 133 game span, in 2008, with Bridgeport. The infielder enjoyed two tours with the Minnesota Twins, his first coming in 2003. After playing for Rochester (AAA, Twins) of the International League he would again get the call for Minnesota in 2004. The 32-year-old appeared in 24 career Major League games, recording 43 at-bats. He has also spent time in the Royals, Phillies and Red Sox organizations during his career. Alex was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Kansas City Royals on November 12, 1992.
