Sand joins the hometown Express for his first summer. He is a graduate of Eau Claire Memorial and is currently playing for St. Olaf. He will serve as a pitcher for the Express, but also plays in the field at St. Olaf. 

In high school, Sand was a 3-year letterwinner in hockey and baseball. He compiled a 46-2-1 record as the starting goalie for the Old Abes and went undefeated his senior season as the team won the State Championship.
