Dario Gomez arrives in Sioux City after a stellar rookie season at Northern Colorado in the Pioneer League, where he hit .345 with 30 home runs, 98 RBI, and 30 stolen bases. He became the first player in Pioneer League history to record a 30-home-run and 30-stolen-base season. Gomez led the team in home runs and tied for the lead in stolen bases, finishing third in the league in homers and fourth in RBI.

Gomez began his college career at San Joaquin Delta College before transferring to the University of Nevada, where he earned all-Mountain West honors. He finished his college career at the University of Miami, hitting .254 in his final season. At Nevada, Gomez hit .350 with 13 home runs and 88 RBI over two seasons, including hitting for the cycle at UNLV in 2022.

In 2021, Gomez was named to the All-Mountain West First Team after leading the team with a .393 average. He also led the team in hits and stolen bases. Gomez spent two years at San Joaquin Delta College, winning the Big 8 conference title in 2019. Born in Oakley, California, Gomez now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.
