2022 is Ian's second summer as manager of the Westerners. In his first season, he led the Westerners to their first Fay Vincent Cup and was awarded Manager of the Year. It is Ian’s fourth season overall with the Westerners as he was the hitting coach and third base coach in 2018 and 2019. He played for Danbury in 2012.

Ian became head baseball coach at UConn Avery Point in June 2019. He played for the Pointers in 2011 and 2012, reaching the NJCAA Division II World Series in 2011. He played his final two collegiate years at Post University.

Ian spent 2018-19 as an assistant coach at the University of Bridgeport (CT) where he helped the Purple Knights reach the finals of the East Coast Conference Tournament. Previous coaching experience includes three seasons at Western Connecticut State University and with the Front Royal (VA) Cardinals of the Valley Summer Collegiate Baseball League.
