One of two JU Dolphins on the 2022 Bats roster, Murphy, a lefty arm, figures to be an important part of the bullpen mix.  He was a 2019 Under Armour Preseason All-American out of East River High School and made his Jacksonville debut on March 30, 2021 at UCF.  This year, Murphy struck out seven over his first 5.2 innings of work, all out of the bullpen.  He continues to gain more experience after he redshirted in 2020 and then pitched twice in last year's altered campaign.  This Jacksonville duo become the third and fourth players from the school to play for the Bats all-time, including NECBL Most Improved Player Tommy Joseph last year.
