Tim returns for his first full season with the River Bats after joining the club last July. He appeared five times in the season's final month. Verthein started his final two outings and took home wins in each of those two contests. The righty allowed just two hits over six innings Aug. 10 on the road against Mankato. He ended the year 2-0 with a 3.10 ERA in 20.1 innings. In 2011, Tim switched from the bullpen to the starting rotation at UW-LAX. Verthein posted 2.86 ERA as of May 24th. He delivered a 3-0 record and allowed just one home run in the season. Tim made 15 appearances as a freshman for the Eagles. Verthein posted a 5.75 ERA He pitched 32.1 innings and struck out 20. He pitched four innings and punched out two in a game against UW-Platteville. Tim made one appearance in 2009 before redshirting. Verthein's 15 appearances led the Eagles in 2010.
