Larsen is seeing his first collegiate playing time this season after redshirting in 2017 and not appearing in any games last season. In six appearances, he’s recorded four strikeouts with a 6.00 ERA in nine innings. He’s only allowed two runs since his first appearance of the season. At Corona Del Mar High School, Larsen played first base, pitcher, third base, and designated hitter for three years on varsity. As a senior, he finished 9-2 with 10 complete games, 93 strikeouts, 2 shutouts, and a 1.01 ERA. He was named Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year in both his junior and senior seasons.
