Lefty Eric Stout returns to Kansas City in 2021 after agreeing to terms on January 20, 2021. Stout was set to be a part of the 2020 season after he was signed by the T-Bones on March 3, 2020, but he did not play owing to the season cancellation. The former Big Leaguer made two starts for the T-Bones in 2019 before his contract was purchased by the Cincinnati Reds on June 1, along with Kevin Lenik who had his contract purchased by the Boston Red Sox. Stout's 2019 T-Bones season tallied nine innings, striking out 13, surrendering five hits and three earned runs with a 1-1 record. He would post a 3.00 ERA in his two outings. With the Reds he worked two scoreless innings at AA Chattanooga in the Southern League and another 60.1 innings at AAA Louisville in the AAA International League. Stout pitched in 20 games and made nine starts, striking out 52 batters and giving up 68 hits and 42 earned runs. He went 2-2 and had a 6.27 ERA for the Bats at AAA.
