Jose joins the ‘Fish for his first season in the Atlantic League and 10th of professional baseball. The righthander last pitched in the United States with the Houston Astros organization in 2007 as a member of Triple-A Round Rock. That year he appeared in 52 games and posted a 4-4 record with a 5.00 ERA. The 29-year-old began his professional career in 1999 with the Atlanta Braves organization and has also made appearances with the New York Mets, Tampa Bay Rays and Houston Astros affiliates. His best season as a professional came in 2006 as a member of the Durham Bulls (AAA, Rays) of the International League. With the Bulls the Venezuelan native appeared in 49 games and compiled a 4-2 record with a stellar 2.43 ERA with 62 strikeouts over 74 innings of work. He owns a 30-23 career minor league record with a 3.93 ERA, 12 saves and 391 strikeouts in 276 games. Rodriguez has pitched in Mexico since 2008.
