Reed’s stint with the Gulls comes at a time when is preparing to make the leap from Junior College to Division I. He just finished a spectacular two-year career at Seminole State College (Seminole, OK) and will become a University of Kentucky Wildcat in the Fall.
Reed, led all of the NJCAA in home runs during 2017 (26) and earned Second Team All- American Honors. His 18 long balls this past season was good for 12th nationally. Not only does Reed demonstrate great power but he has shown he can hit for average and drive in runs in other ways than hitting the ball over the wall. He held a .384 and .356 average in 2017 & 2018 respectfully while driving in 60 RBI as a freshman and 76 this past spring.
The Roff, OK native was a member of the Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwoods League last summer, hitting three home runs and 12 RBI in 24 games played. This is second summer season in a row playing with OF Stevie Mangrum (Virginia Tech).
