The 6-3 outfielder who made his way from Oakville, Ontario, Canada, to Eastern Kentucky University has continued to prove why he is an everyday kind of player in the outfield.  Howie has followed a stellar freshman season with an even stronger sophomore campaign.  Making the start in 58 of his 60 games played he was top three on the team in batting average (.333 -3rd), slugging percentage (.533 – 2nd) and on-base percentage (.420 – 2nd).  He racked up the team’s third most hits with 75, including 10 home runs and 13 doubles as he swiped 17 bags to lead the team.  Howie was near perfect in the outfield with a .980 fielding percentage with 96 putouts.  This builds off 2017 where Howie hit .290 with 61 hits, 41 RBIs, eight home runs, and a team-leading 14 doubles.  The .405 career hitter at Garth Webb High School in Oakville, Ontario was recognized for his skills in the classroom in 2017 by the Ohio Valley Conference as he received the Medal of Honor, an award given annually to student-athletes that achieve the highest GPA in a conference-sponsored sport, for his 4.0 GPA in Finance.
