After four seasons in the New York Mets minor league system, right-hander Stephen Clyne joins the Jackals for his fifth professional season in 2011.

In 2010, Clyne appeared in 10 games with the Advanced-A St. Lucie Mets, going 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA. In 2009, he posted a 1.27 ERA and held opponents to a .179 average in 26 appearances with St. Lucie before earning the call to Double-A Binghamton.  Clyne saved 17 games for the Single-A Short Season Brooklyn Cyclones during the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

A native of Parkland, Fla., Clyne was selected by the Mets in the third round of the 2007 draft out of Clemson University. While at Clemson, Clyne compiled a streak of 31.1 consecutive scoreless innings, which is the second-longest such streak in Tigers history.

During his four-year career, the 26-year-old Clyne has appeared in 117 games, all in relief. He has allowed just five home runs in 164.1 innings and is 9-8 with a 3.94 ERA with 21 saves.
