He was named second-team All-GLVC as a freshman at Belleramine with a team high (tied) four complete games. Mathis was the ace of the Knights’ pitching staff with a 9-3 record and 2.74 ERA in 14 starts. He struck out 71 batters with 13 walks. Mathis will play under a temporary contract this season.
