Early lead not enough for the Washington Wild Things, drop 3-1 decision to the Gateway Grizzlies

The Washington Wild Things (33-47) built an early edge on Thursday, but the Gateway Grizzlies (48-33) roared back to steal a 3-1 victory at GCS Ballpark - Sauget, IL.

A two-run home run by Jon Myers gave the Gateway Grizzlies the lead in the seventh inning.

Myers racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Paul Tremlin allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out two over six innings of work.

Jovan Rosa paced the Washington Wild Things at the plate. Rosa went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the second, fifth, and seventh innings.

JaVaun West got the win, running his season record to 4-2. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Gary Lee ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
