An outstanding effort by Hunter Reade hoisted the Atwater Aviators (16-18) to an 11-4 win over the Klamath Falls Gems (12-19) on Tuesday at Fireman's Memorial Ballpark.
Reade blasted two home runs for the Atwater Aviators. Reade went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Reade homered in the first and third innings.
Seven runs in the first three innings helped the Atwater Aviators blow out the Klamath Falls Gems. A sacrifice fly by Kolin Kubitz and a two-run home run by Reade during the first inning and a groundout by Liam Rihella in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Atwater Aviators.
Evan Duran brought the heat against the Klamath Falls Gems during his outing. Duran held the Klamath Falls Gems hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
Ryan Sanchez recorded his third win of the year for the Atwater Aviators. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered eight hits.
Zach Lewandowski (0-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked six and struck out two.
