Andrew Davis collected three hits, sparking the Lake Erie Crushers (33-27) to an 8-6 victory over the Normal CornBelters (28-31) on Saturday at The Corn Crib.
He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.The Normal CornBelters were led by Aaron Dudley's hitting. Dudley went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.
Brandon Smith improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed two runs over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered two hits.
Alan Oaks (0-3) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
