Dennis Raben brought home the go-ahead run to give the Lincoln Saltdogs (4-3) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Lincoln Saltdogs hung on to beat the Gary SouthShore RailCats (4-3) 4-3 on Saturday.

Dan Carroll reached on an error to get on base in the eighth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base.

Raben racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Lincoln Saltdogs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Nathan Moreau baffled the Gary SouthShore RailCats, striking out eight batters. Moreau allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk over five innings.

A bright spot for the Gary SouthShore RailCats in the defeat was Stephen Hiscock, who allowed only two runs while striking out seven.

Eddie McKiernan recorded his first win of the year for the Lincoln Saltdogs. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Estevan Uriegas (0-1) took the loss for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
