Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the River City Rascals (18-26) outscored the Windy City ThunderBolts (18-28) 12-8.
The two teams combined for 26 hits in the game.
Phil Wunderlich racked up five RBIs on three hits for the River City Rascals. He singled in the first and third innings and homered in the fifth inning.
Doug Joyce racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He homered in the second inning and singled in the eighth inning.
Tommy Mendoza recorded his fourth win for the River City Rascals even though he allowed six runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered seven hits.
Travis Strong (1-5) took the loss for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
The River City Rascals hammered the Windy City ThunderBolts pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 13 hits, seven RBIs and 10 runs scored.
