Penguins & Pointstreak Create Groundbreaking Grassroots Technology ProgramNov 24, 2010 ![]()
TORONTO, ON – Pointstreak Sports Technologies Inc.(“Pointstreak”) and the Pittsburgh Penguins are pleased to announce they have reached a long-term agreement which will see Pointstreak provide multiple services to grassroots hockey including the Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League (PAHL) and Pittsburgh Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL). The Pittsburgh Penguins have been strong supporters of grassroots and high school hockey for many years. Under the terms of the agreement Pointstreak will provide its industry leading real-time scoring and statistics technology, online registration as well as website design and hosting services. This network of sites will see the development of a site for each of the teams in the PAHL (www.pahlnetwork.com) and PIHL (www.pihlnetwork.com). Pointstreak will also install its proprietary electronic real-time scoring terminals in 43 ice pads in the greater Pittsburgh area enabling up-to-date results to be posted on each team and league website. “The Pittsburgh Penguins have a long history of supporting youth hockey and our organization began searching for a partner who could appreciate that history while advancing the Penguins’ brand and web presence,” said Rich Hixon, Executive Director of Strategic Development for the Penguins. “Ultimately, it became apparent that Pointstreak was the ideal partner for us.
