Foster, a 31 year old forward, will add speed and energy to the Giants lineup and will become the 170th player to pull on our Teal jersey when the new season begins.
The American, whose signing was made possible by our partnership with the Ulster University Business School, played Division One NCAA hockey for Bowling Green State University, where he was named in the Second All-Star team following 82 points scored in 72 games played.
Following University, Foster spent six seasons in Toronto and posted 163 points in 337 games played for the Marlies where he wore both an ‘A’ and a ‘C’ for the AHL organisation and also earned himself a call-up to the NHL’s Maple Leafs in 2007/08 season.
The 2016/17 season will be Alex Foster’s sixth in-a-row in Europe following spells with Sparta Prague of the Czech Republic’s Extraliga and three seasons in the DEL split between Adler Mannheim and Iserhohn Roosters.
