Team Pennsylvania uses shootout to best Detroit Red Wings, 2-1 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Team Pennsylvania defeated Detroit Red Wings in a shootout 2-1 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.

Team Pennsylvania came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Team Pennsylvania fell behind 1-0 after a goal by Detroit Red Wings' Peter Moore at 36 seconds in the second period. Team Pennsylvania knotted things up at 1-1 on a power play goal by Reid Pehrkon at 8:53 in the second period.

Team Pennsylvania forced Detroit Red Wings goalie Connor Davis to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for Team Pennsylvania were Landon Watson and Jerome Benz III, who each chipped in one.

Cole Werthman made 22 saves for Team Pennsylvania on 23 shots. Team Pennsylvania finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-3 with the man advantage. Davis recorded 29 saves for Detroit Red Wings. Detroit Red Wings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
