Wilber's big game bests North in 6-1 Central win

Jeremy Wilber was all over the ice for Central, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Central's 6-1 win over North.

Wilber beat Ryan Fanti with a shot 13:39 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Central. Andrew Jackson assisted on the tally. Wilber dished an assist on Anthony Starzi's goal that made the score 5-1 Central at 10:11 into the third period. He added another helper on Brendan Doyle's goal that made the score 6-1 Central at 15:52 into the third period.

Central forced North's goalies to work between the pipes, launching 40 shots and forcing 34 saves. Fanti made 22 stops and Alex Chen made 12. Central found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Central has scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of Central were also effective in North's zone, and came away with two goals.

Central also got points from Shayne Monahan, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Central included Jasper Weatherby and Stefan Krupski, who each put in one. In addition, Central received assists from Conor Yawney, Nick Daluisio, Michael Shippee, and Conner Hunt, who contributed one each and Calvon Boots and Samir Abouelhana, who each chipped in two.

North was led by Jake Russo, who scored the team's only goal. Russo scored 5:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North. Baldino Aiello picked up the assist.

Joseph Giacobbo made 12 saves before being replaced by Hunter Smith, who took the win and made 13 saves. Central avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of three power plays. North incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
