Caledonia downs London in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Caledonia Corvairs pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the London Nationals on a clutch goal by Blake Luscombe.

The win by Caledonia clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

London was unable to stop the Corvairs from sending pucks towards the net, and Caledonia eventually piled up 48 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Others who scored for Caledonia included Ryan Moran, Mitchell Fitzmorris, and Nick Zottl, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Jake Brown, who had two and Davis Brown, Corey Pawley, Matthew Hore, and Todd Ratchford, who each chipped in one.

The Nationals forced the Corvairs goalie Mark Sinclair to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

London was led by Callum Ruddock, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Ruddock scored on the power play 1:37 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Kyle Robinson picked up the assist. London additionally got points from Robinson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. London also got a goal from Matt Doty as well. More assists for London came via Austin Kemp, who had one and John Adams, who had two.

Sinclair recorded 32 saves for Caledonia. The Corvairs incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Connor Hughes rejected 44 shots on goal for the Nationals. London totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. The Nationals ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Scott Dorion was ejected from the game.
