Pensacola wins tough contest against Peoria, 5-4

The win by Pensacola clinched the best of five series at zero-three

The teams traded the lead five times and neither team could skate away and hide.

Ice Flyers were led by Josh Cousineau, who had one goal. Cousineau scored in the third period to make the score 3-3 . Brandon Zurn claimed the first assist on the goal, and Ryan Kesti got the second.

Peoria were unable to stop Pensacola from sending pucks towards the net, and Pensacola eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.team could not crack Rivermen's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Pensacola also got points from Joseph Holka, who also registered one goal and one assist and Zurn, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Pensacola included Drew Baker and Adam Pawlick, who scored one each. More assists for Pensacola came via Paul Rodrigues, who had two and Kesti, Mike Krieg, Jeremy Gates, and Anthony Calabrese, who contributed one apiece.

Peoria were helped by Mike Gurtler, who finished with one goal.Gurtler scored on the power play in the third period to make the score 4-4 . Dave Pszenyczny and Adam Stuart registered the assists on the goal.Peoria additionally got points from Stuart, who also registered one goal and one assist. Peoria also had goals scored by Connor P Toomey, Chris Wilson, and Gurtler, who each put in one. In addition, Peoria received assists from Walker Wintoneak, Christian Weidauer, Benjamin Rubin, and Pszenyczny, who each chipped in one.

Ice Flyers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Rivermen incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Peoria, Stuart, Brandon Greenside, and Pszenyczny were ejected from the contest.
