A hat trick by Peter Baum was the highlight in Machine's 16-14 win against the Florida Launch. Baum's first goal came 6:07 into the 1st quarter. Then added goal at 9:12 into the 1st and at 8:22 into the 4th. Ohio forced Florida's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 46 shots and forcing 16 saves. Brett Queener made eight stops and Austin Kaut made eight. Ohio additionally got points from Marcus Holman, who also registered three goals and one assist. Ohio also had goals scored by Mark Cockerton, who had four, Mike MacDonald and Kyle Harrison, who each put in two and Brandon Mangan, who had one. In addition, Ohio received assists from Tom Schreiber, who had five and Jimmy Bitter and Greg Puskuldjian, who contributed one apiece. The 40 shots that the Launch put on net surpassed the Launch's average of 28.2 shots per game this season. Florida bested its season scoring average. This season, the Launch average 10.6 goals per contest. Florida was led by Casey Powell, who racked up four goals and three assists. Florida also got points from Kieran McArdle, who also registered two goals and three assists. Others who scored for Florida included Owen Blye, who had four, Steven Brooks, who had two and Roman Lao-Gosney and Nikko Pontrello, who scored one goal each. Adam Fullerton recorded eight saves for the Machine. Ohio won 20 faceoffs to 13 for the Launch. Puskuldjian won 20 for Ohio.
