Ratliff nets hat trick, leads Atlanta to 22-10 win over Florida

Scott Ratliff netted a hat trick to lead the Atlanta Blaze over the Florida Launch, 22-10. Ratliff's first goal came 6:13 into the 1st quarter. Then added goal at 9:38 into the 2nd and at 6:31 into the 4th.

Atlanta gained an early advantage, leading 6-1 by the end of the first quarter.

The Blaze's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Atlanta found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Blaze have scored at the pace of 16.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Atlanta additionally got points from Kevin Rice, who also registered four goals and two assists and Randy Staats, who also registered four goals and one assist. Others who scored for Atlanta included Josh Dionne, who had three and Joe Locascio, Christopher May, Jeremy Noble, Shayne Jackson and Henry Schoonmaker, who each put in one. More assists for Atlanta came via Kevin Cooper, who had two and Ryan Tucker, Adam Ghitelman and Graeme Hossack, who each chipped in one.

The Launch were helped by Kieran McArdle, who registered one goal and one assist. McArdle scored 0:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Florida. Florida also got points from Lyle Thompson, who also registered one goal and one assist and Casey Powell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Florida also had goals scored by Connor Buczek, who had two and Peter Ricci, Miles Thompson, Roman Lao-Gosney and Nikko Pontrello, who scored one goal each. In addition, Florida received assists from Steven Brooks, who had one.

Atlanta's starting goalie, Ghitelman, made 16 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Eric Schneider, who stopped five shots. Austin Kaut took the loss and made 10 saves before being replaced by Brett Queener who made nine saves. The Blaze won 22 faceoffs to 11 for the Launch. May won 22 for the Blaze.
