The Atlanta Blaze jumped out to a six-point advantage by the end of the first quarter and beat the Denver Outlaws, 23-12. Atlanta got the win with help from a great game by Randy Staats, who had six goals and three assists. He scored the first of his goals at 2:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0. he also scored at 6:19 into the first period to make the score 5-0, at 14:59 into the first period to make the score 9-3, at 10:17 into the second period to make the score 14-3, at 2:22 into the third period to make the score 16-4 and at 14:52 into the third period to make the score 18-6. The Blaze outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Atlanta averages 15.7 goals per contest. Atlanta additionally got points from Joe Locascio, who also registered two goals and one assist, Justin Pennington, who also registered one goal and two assists, Kevin Rice, who also registered five goals and three assists and Kevin Cooper, who also registered two goals and one assist. Atlanta also had goals scored by Patrick Harbeson and Josh Dionne, who scored two goals each and Scott Ratliff and Eric OBrien, who each put in one. More assists for Denver came via Thomas Kelly, who had one. Ryan LaPlante took the loss and made five saves before being replaced by Johnny Rodriguez who made five saves. The Outlaws won 25 faceoffs to 13 for Atlanta. Kelly won 16 for the Outlaws.
