Sankey leads Charlotte over Boston, 15-12

Behind a great game by Joey Sankey, who had six goals and three assists, the Charlotte Hounds defeated the Boston Cannons, 15-12.

Sankey got on the scoresheet 7:19 into the 2nd quarter. Then added goal at 2:55 into the 3rd, at 3:47 into the 3rd, at 7:02 into the 3rd, at 13:33 into the 3rd and at 12:33 into the 4th.

The 53 shots that Charlotte put on net surpassed Charlotte's average of 38.8 shots per game this season.

Charlotte also got points from John Haus, who also registered four goals and one assist. Charlotte also had goals scored by Colin Dunster, who had three and Terry Kimener and Michael Ehrhardt, who each put in one. More assists for Charlotte came via Mike Chanenchuk, who had three and Mike Sawyer, Kevin Cunningham and Stephen Ianzito, who contributed one apiece.

Boston's offense was clicking better than usual and put 41 shots on goal during the game, better than the 36.2 shots per game it averages.

The Cannons were led by Will Manny, who finished with two goals and six assists. Boston additionally got points from David Emala, who also registered three goals and one assist and John Glesener, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Boston included Wells Stanwick, who had three, Michael Begley, who had two and Martin Bowes, who had one. In addition, Boston received assists from Brent Adams, who had one.

Charlie Cipriano rejected 13 shots on goal for the Hounds. Tyler Fiorito recorded 18 saves for Boston. Charlotte won 20 faceoffs to 11 for the Cannons. Kevin Massa won 19 for Charlotte.
