The Chesapeake Bayhawks climbed out of a six-goal hole to beat the Atlanta Blaze, 16-13. Chesapeake never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Bayhawks was down 8-2 after a goal by Atlanta's Jay Carlson at 1:38 in the 2nd quarter. Chesapeake knotted things up at 9-9 on a goal by Alex Love at 2:42 in the 3rd quarter. The Bayhawks netted the game winner at 3:17 in the 3rd quarter on a goal by Love. Matt Danowski had four goals and four assists to lead Chesapeake. The Bayhawks kept the Blaze's goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Ghitelman made 11 saves on 27 shots. Chesapeake also got points from Brendan Mundorf, who also registered one goal and one assist, Matt Abbott, who also registered one goal and one assist and Love, who also registered four goals and one assist. Others who scored for Chesapeake included Matt Mackrides, who had three, Drew Westervelt, who had two and Tyler German, who had one. More assists for Chesapeake came via Nick Ossello and Jesse Bernhardt, who each chipped in one. Atlanta made Chesapeake's goaltenders to work without much rest, firing 44 shots and forcing 10 saves. Brian Phipps made eight stops and Niko Amato made two. The Blaze were led by Kevin Rice, who finished with six goals and one assist. Atlanta also got a goal from Ryan Tucker as well. Other players who recorded assists for Atlanta were Scott Ratliff, Eric OBrien and Patrick Harbeson, who contributed one apiece. Atlanta won 19 faceoffs to 14 for the Bayhawks. OBrien won 19 for Atlanta.
