Manno's goals lift Fayetteville to 2-0 victory over Knoxville

The Fayetteville FireAntz relied on the scoring touch of Joseph Manno, who netted two goals, to beat the Knoxville Ice Bears, 2-0.

Manno scored on the power play at 7:07 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Fayetteville and again while 19:59 into the third to make the score 2-0 Fayetteville.

The win by Fayetteville clinched the best of three series at 2-1.

The FireAntz stifled Knoxville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Fayetteville's offense rang up 34 shots on the Ice Bears' net.

In addition, Fayetteville received assists from Nicholas Rivait, Tayler Thompson, and Chris Porter, who each chipped in one.

Knoxville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Zack LaRue, Corey Hale and Michael Hill took 10 of the team's 17 shots.

Parker Van Buskirk recorded 17 saves for the FireAntz. Fayetteville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Ice Bears' Bryan Hince stopped 32 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Knoxville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
