Leamington falls to London in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The London Nationals' Rai Di Loreto scored 1:26 into overtime to beat the Leamington Flyers, 3-2 (OT).

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Leamington faces elimination next time out.

London got the win behind a great game by Di Loreto, who had two goals and one assist. Di Loreto scored the first of his two goals at 19:06 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Kyle Robinson picked up the assist. Di Loreto's next tally made the score 3-2 London with 18:34 left in overtime. Kevin Madden provided the assist.

The Nationals' offense rang up 32 shots on the Flyers' net. London did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

London also got points from Madden, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, London received assists from Brenden Trottier, who had one and Scott Goodman, who had two.

Leamington forced the Nationals goalie Connor Hughes to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Flyers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Leamington was led by Liam Hogan, who registered one goal and one assist. Hogan scored on the power play 18:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Flyers had gained a power play chance when Tanner Ferreira was whistled for tripping. Scott Emerson picked up the assist. Leamington also got a goal from Mitchell Amante as well. More assists for Leamington came via Derek Elliott, who had two.

Hughes rejected 33 shots on goal for London. The Nationals registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Tyler Wall made 29 saves for Leamington on 32 shots. The Flyers registered one goal on one power play opportunities.
