North Iowa downs Twin City in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

North Iowa's Kohei Sato scored 2:51 into overtime to beat Twin City, 4-3 (OT).

Sato had a great game for North Iowa, netting two goals.

North Iowa managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. North Iowa wound up below its season average of 5.0 penalty minutes per game. Twin City was unable to stop North Iowa from sending pucks towards the net, and North Iowa eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

North Iowa also had goals scored by Joe Burgmeier and Austin Jackson, who scored one goal each. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Quinn Fuchs, Marshall Barnes, and Carmen Dalesandro, who contributed one each and Connor Bump and Brett Gravelle, who each chipped in two.

Twin City's offense rang up 35 shots on North Iowa's net.

Twin City was led by Yannick Zehnder, who racked up two goals. Zehnder scored the first of his two goals at 12:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Twin City. Nick McKeeby assisted on the tally. Zehnder's next tally made the score 2-2 with 4:11 left in the second period. Luc Kreuser picked up the assist. Twin City also got a goal from Zak Lambrecht as well. More assists for Twin City came via Paul Stehr, Tyler Nystrom, Jared Erickson, and Alex Egle, who contributed one each.

Tommi Ahlgren rejected 32 shots on goal for North Iowa. North Iowa registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Gunnar Howg made 31 saves for Twin City on 35 shots. Twin City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
