Shand's hat trick boosts Metro over West Michigan, 11-2

Kevin Shand netted a hat trick to lead Metro over West Michigan, 11-2.Shand's first goal came 14:30 into the first period. He then added goals at 32 seconds into the second and at 8:21 into the second.
The win by Metro clinched the best of three series at 2-0.
Metro forced West Michigan's goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 44 shots and forcing 33 saves. Samuel Woznicki made 20 stops and Maxwell Barr made 13. Metro's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three West Michigan power plays.
Metro also got points from Michael Tratar, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Jacob Drinkard, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Mathias Tellstrom, who also finished with two goals and three assists, and Jason Recchia, who also registered one goal and one assist. Metro also got a goal from Jacob Gleason as well. More assists for Metro came via David Chavis, Marc Schwartz, Dylan Naumovski, Jacob Rutkoske, and Chas Distelrath, who each chipped in one and Cam Schwartz, Devin Kelly, and Graham Day, who contributed two each.
West Michigan was led by Devin Farkas, who racked up one goal. Farkas scored 10:22 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brendon Block provided the assist. Connor Henderson also scored for West Michigan. In addition, West Michigan received assists from Ryan Price, who had one.
Austin Kane made nine saves before being replaced by Kameron Limburg, who took the win and made 19 saves. Metro incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. West Michigan incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
