WHITBY earns hard-fought 1-0 win over WATERLOO

WHITBY and WATERLOO played 60 tight minutes of hockey, but in the end it was WHITBY that came away with a 1-0 victory.

The assists on the winning goal came courtesy of Brooke McQuigge and Maya Patel.

After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, WATERLOO faces elimination next time out.

WHITBY was led by Alicia Pallister, who grabbed one goal. Pallister scored 2:22 into the second period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY. McQuigge picked up the assist.

WHITBY's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three WATERLOO power plays.

WATERLOO stifled WHITBY's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. WATERLOO did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force 12 saves.

WHITBY's Rachel McQuigge stopped 12 shots out of the 12 that she faced. WHITBY incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Morgan Heinbuch-Filipowitsch rejected 22 shots on goal for WATERLOO. WATERLOO incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
