Stratford rides Brooks-Potts to victory over Elmira, 4-1

The Stratford Cullitons relied on the sparkling performance of Alexander Brooks-Potts in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Elmira Sugar Kings.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Elmira faces elimination next time out.

Stratford was led by Josh Miller, who had one goal. Miller scored on the power play 18:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Stratford. Zach Van Louwe provided the assist.

The Cullitons stifled the Sugar Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Stratford kept Elmira's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jonathan Reinhart made 33 saves on 37 shots.

Stratford also got a goal from Jack Scanlan as well. In addition, Stratford received assists from Tyson Baker, who had one and Anthony Kotsovos and Justin Graham, who each chipped in two.

The Sugar Kings forced the Cullitons goalie Brooks-Potts to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Elmira was led by Rob Kohli, who scored the team's only goal. Kohli scored 17:55 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mackenzie MacSorley picked up the assist.

Alexander Brooks-Potts made 33 saves for Stratford on 34 shots. The Cullitons incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Sugar Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
