Burlington downs Oakville, 4-1

Chris Cobham had two points to lead the Burlington Cougars to a 4-1 victory over the Oakville Blades.

The win by Burlington broke a deadlock and gave the Cougars a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Burlington also got points from Jordan Peacock, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Mike Faliero also scored for Burlington. More assists for Burlington came via Nicholas Holt, Zac Herrmann, and David Thomson, who contributed one each.

Oakville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Burlington power plays.

The Blades were led by Josh Kosack, who scored the team's only goal. Kosack scored on the power play 1:01 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Oakville. Oakville earned a power play opportunity when Ben Morris was put in the box for tripping. Ryan Foss assisted on the tally.

Burlington's Andrew Lee stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Cougars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brendan McGlynn rejected 16 shots on goal for the Blades. Oakville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Blades ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ian Blacker was ejected from the game.
