Georgetown downs North York in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Ryan Takamatsu gave the Georgetown Raiders a 5-4 (OT) victory over the North York Rangers when he scored 7:12 into the extra period.

The win moved Georgetown to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

The Raiders came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Georgetown trailed 4-2 after a goal by North York's Nick Campoli at 58 seconds in the third period. The Raiders knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Jordan Crocker at 9:50 in the third period.

Brendan Jacome and Takamatsu provided the spark for Georgetown, combining for three goals and one assist. Jacome registered two goals and one assist and Takamatsu also added one goal.

The Raiders forced the Rangers goalie Gianluca Baggetta to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Georgetown additionally got points from Crocker, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Georgetown also got a goal from Bailey Molella as well. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Jack Jacome, who had two and Arran MacDonald, Zack Dybowski, Daniel Hardie, Ashur Elliot, and Austin Cho, who contributed one each.

North York forced Georgetown's netminders to work without much rest, ripping 36 shots and forcing 32 saves. Andrew Masters made 31 stops and Billy Day made one.

The Rangers were led by Michael Morgan, who had two goals. Morgan scored the first of his two goals at 13:31 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Chris Sekelyk picked up the assist. Morgan's next tally made the score 3-2 North York with 3:36 left in the second period. Tyler Currie provided the assist. Ted Hunt also scored for North York. More assists for North York came via Fedor Rudakov, Grayden Gottschalk, and Christian Mitri, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. North York's Baggetta stopped 28 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Rangers incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
