London survives LaSalle comeback, wins 4-3Vollmer Recreation Complex Thu, Mar 24, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The LaSalle Vipers tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the London Nationals held on for a 4-3 victory. A goal by Brenden Trottier put London up 4-1 in the second period, but LaSalle pulled to within one on Nathan Veres's tally 19:08 into the third period. The win by the Nationals clinched the best of seven series at 4-2. London was helped by Max Vinogradov, who registered one goal. Vinogradov scored 9:06 into the second period to make the score 3-1 London. Scott Dorion picked up the assist. London additionally got points from Kyle Robinson, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Trottier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Trevor Dulong also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Tanner Ferreira, Austin Kemp, Matt Doty, John Adams, and Colin Wilson, who each chipped in one. The Vipers forced the Nationals goalie Connor Hughes to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. LaSalle was helped by Daniel Beaudoin, who had one goal. Beaudoin scored on the power play 1:24 into the second period to make the score 2-1 London. An interference penalty on Tyler Sehovic had put the Vipers on the power play. Blake Jones assisted on the tally. LaSalle also got a goal from Cale Allen as well. More assists for LaSalle came via Matthew Doucette, Nikko Sablone, and Tyler Russell, who contributed one each. London's Hughes stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Nationals incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Eli Billing rejected 22 shots on goal for LaSalle. The Vipers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
