Clark nets hat trick, leads Point Mallard to 10-1 win over Sugar Land

Sugar Land could not stop Point Mallard's Justin Clark, who tallied a hat trick in a 10-1 win.

Clark's first goal came 8:50 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:25 into the second and at 2:02 into the third.

The win by Point Mallard clinched the best of three series at 2-1.

Point Mallard led 4-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

Sugar Land was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Point Mallard was able to score four times while on the power play.

Point Mallard forced Sugar Land's netminders to work between the pipes, taking 90 shots and forcing 80 saves. Tristan Collins made 62 stops and Ryan OToole made 18. Point Mallard's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Point Mallard additionally got points from Grant Dukus, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Justin Dunn, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Point Mallard included Jake Cox, who had three and Joe Bresingham and Justin Delisle, who scored one goal each. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Stephen Coulter, who had one and Josh Hamilton and Jake Champaign, who contributed two each.

RC Randall also scored for Sugar Land.

Point Mallard took out Josh Martin after he had made 11 saves and installed Cooper Seedott in goal, where he finished with eight saves and the win. Point Mallard ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Sugar Land totaled 69 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
