STONEY CREEK relied on the sparkling performance of Serena DAngelo in net to grab a 3-1 win against MISSISSAUGA.

The win gave STONEY CREEK a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

STONEY CREEK was led by Kristin ONeill (C), who had one goal. ONeill (C) scored 3:36 into the second period to make the score 2-1 STONEY CREEK. Alison Bruder picked up the assist.

STONEY CREEK stifled MISSISSAUGA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. STONEY CREEK forced MISSISSAUGA goalie Carmen Lasis to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

STONEY CREEK also had goals scored by Rachel Marmen and Alexa Vasko, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for STONEY CREEK were Megan Korzack and Victoria Klimek, who contributed one each.

MISSISSAUGA kept STONEY CREEK's goalie busy throughout the game, and DAngelo made 40 saves on 41 shots.

MISSISSAUGA was led by Mikyla Grant-Mentis, who scored the team's only goal. Grant-Mentis scored 5:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 MISSISSAUGA. Kaelyn Johnson provided the assist.

STONEY CREEK incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. MISSISSAUGA's Lasis stopped 33 shots out of the 36 that she faced. MISSISSAUGA incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
