Backstrom's hat trick boosts New York over Roc City, 10-5

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Roc City faces elimination next time out.

The game was close after the first frame, but New York banged in five goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for Roc City.

New York kept Roc City's goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Nevinger made 13 saves on 35 shots.New York had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on ten chances.

New York additionally got points from Alexei Pilatsky, who also registered one goal and one assist , Martin Grinberg, who also registered one goal and three assists , Jimmy Warrick, who also registered two goals and one assist , and Nick Jean-Louis, who also registered one goal and one assist. New York also had goals scored by Sean Lake and Dominick Sacco, who each put in one. In addition, New York received assists from Phillip Garcia and Sam Shaheen, who each chipped in two and Eric Hewitt, Alex Rojas, Nicholas Lermer, and Shawn Eastman, who contributed one apiece.
